Preparing for Your Satellite Internet Setup Appointment

Field Support Team May 17, 2026 4 min read

Whether we're walking you through setup by phone or meeting you in person, a little preparation makes the appointment faster for everyone. Here's what we recommend before your scheduled session.

Have your equipment on hand

If your provider has already shipped your self-install kit, have it unboxed (but not yet mounted) before the appointment. If you haven't ordered anything yet, that's fine too — we'll help you figure out what to order first.

Think about line of sight

If you already have a hunch about where the dish should go — a clear part of the roof, an open corner of the yard — mention it when scheduling. It helps us plan the session and flag likely obstructions ahead of time.

Have your provider account info handy

Your provider account number or order confirmation helps us reference your specific plan and equipment model quickly during the call.

Plan for a Wi-Fi walkthrough

Setup assistance includes getting your router and Wi-Fi network working, not just the dish. If you have a large home or known dead zones, let us know — we can advise on router placement or mesh options on the spot.
